Dusty has led a varied life. For 15 years he was a circus performer/actor/street entertainer. He even modelled as a punk back in the late 1980s. For the last ten years he has been working as an urban ecologist, specialising in urban brownfields and green roofs. In 2004 he co founded www.livingroofs.org as an independent resource of green roof information in the UK and is currently the President of the European Federation of Green Roof Associatons.

Also in 2004 he was awarded the Andrew Lees Memorial Award at the annual British Environment and Media Awards. He is also a TV presenter including recent work with comedian Bill Bailey on the Channel 4 wildlife programme Wild Thing - I Love You

Dusty is also known for his juggling skills and he is wowed conferences worldwide getting audiences to juggle. Dusty will kick off a conference or energise an afternoon agenda with his juggling session, teaching up to 500 delegates how to juggle. The sessions are run with the process of juggling in mind. The most important issue is what happens in between the throw and the catch. Dusty highlights that it's the fear of failure, which is the biggest block to experimentation and progress. This method of coaching is unique, and takes between 45 minutes to an hour. The success rate is around 80% and those who do not master the basics, generally go away and master them in their own time.  The juggling session is often the highlight of the day. It can be tailored to the conference theme and delegates can leave with branded juggling balls - a lasting memory of the event.

Dusty is also an engaging, inspiring public speaker presenting talks on the environment, birds and green roofs as well as leading sessions of corporate juggling – how to change the way you behave.
